For some of us, leopard print conjures up memories of a certain member of the Spice Girls and her very apparent love for leopard, but what was once a print that many of us shied away from is now back with a bang. It’s been a hot look on the catwalk for A/W 2010, with Mulberry and D&G featuring it in their shows. And as you can see, Whitney Port, Cheryl Cole, Kelly Osbourne and Emma Watson have all been spotted in leopard print, incorporating it so well into their own styles.
I know it’s not the print for everyone, but hopefully I can show you a few items that really do the print justice. Whether you’re a fan of the full on leopard look or prefer the more subtle accessories approach, I’ve picked a selection of leopard lovelies to get you in the mood!
1. Motel Ingrid Dress £39
2. Miss Selfridge Leopard Bow Mini Skirt £25
3. Topshop Leopard Print Jeans Belt £30
4. South Charming Ankle Cuff Ballerinas £20
5. Republic Crafted Leopard Print Scarf £9.99
6. River Island Leopard Face Drop Earrings £5.99
7. Topshop Crop Faux Fur Leopard Coat £80
8. Red Herring Gold Coloured Leopard Strap Watch £24
As you can see, leopard print doesn’t have to be so ‘in your face’, sometimes I prefer the more subtle look. The Topshop belt can be paired with jeans and a simple top, just to give it that little bit of an edge. Likewise with the Red Herring watch from Debenhams (which btw, looks a lot more expensive than £24 right?), the little nods to the leopard print trend can look just as gorgeous.
Although the Motel dress and Topshop coat are more ‘stand out’ pieces, which for those new to the world of leopard print can look pretty daunting, but trust me they are real confidence boosters. Just check out my leopard print dress, which I absolutely love wearing during the daytime despite its slightly loud print! I wouldn’t say I was a very ‘edgy’ girl, but a little bit of leopard print always makes me feel that little bit more edgy.
As long as you don’t go overboard with the leopard print (which can work for some, Rihanna did double leopard print but really rocked it) I think you’re good to go. Just check out these normal, non-celeb girls rocking their leopard print clothes and accessories…
