It’s a look I’ve been noticing increasingly more, this month especially. Originally I spied a few pairs in various shops, the ones in Zara catching my attention the most, but wanted to know ways to style them before I took the plunge and bought a pair. So I checked out Chictopia to see how everyone is wearing them.
The first look is from Miha, and what I loved most was that she teamed it with a tan belt, which never fails to improve khaki trousers. I also love that she kept things so simple and wore a traditional Romanian blouse with the trousers.
The second look is from RockHouseVintage. A slightly quirkier look, as they chose to style it with a bustier tucked into the trousers. This strikes me as more of a going out sort of look, maybe to a bar or a gig.
And last, but by no means least, is Annabel’s offering of khaki trousers (although hers seem more stone coloured, but shh!). A gorgeous look, which I could imagine wearing to work on a breezy Summer’s day. The white shirt is half tucked in and buttoned down a little, making it more casual and a little bit sexier. In love with her shoes too, which tone down the masculinity of the trousers.
I just can’t get over how gorgeous these trousers can be made to look. I’m quite the girly girl, love dresses and skirts, but the versatility of trousers has been swaying me. I can imagine wearing them every season and they’re definitely going on my shopping list now.
The first two pairs are from Zara, priced at an amazing £9.99!! Down from £29.99 I believe. Complete bargain, but sadly I’m not in Manchester until I move into my new student house at the end of the month.
The third beauties are £28 (ok, not as purse-friendly as the Zara ones but they do come with a little tan belt) from Dorothy Perkins. Although, to my absolute dismay, they only have sizes 14, 16 and 18. I may have to pop down to my local store and see if they have any in my size in stock.
What do you girls think of khaki trousers, or just trousers in general? Do you own a pair? How would you style them?
