I’m moving out. Ok, I’m not talking flying the nest completely, but moving into student accommodation/housing. This year will be my second time “moving out”, although I’m back to first year again after switching courses. My accommodation of choice this year is a lovely little house with three girls I met during my first year at university.
So I’m in that sort of pre-moving out, excited mood, with only 26 days until I pack up my mum’s car and head to the new house to pick up my set of keys and get settled in. I have all the boring stuff already (pans, coat-hangers, printer that enjoys expensive ink etc.) so I’ve been having fun looking for pretty decorative things to make my room feel more homely. I’ve already got my duvet set, which is king size even though my bed is just a double. According to my mum this is a good idea since it hangs over the sides more?
It’s by Catherine Lansfield and I got it on eBay here. Also comes in charcoal if pink is a bit much for you! I have wooden floors in my new bedroom, so I think it’ll look really cute. It’s girly and pink, but not overly pink. Not headache pink, like when I was a kid I had bright pink and bright green (together, eeeek) walls! Plus it goes with my pink lamp, which made it an obvious choice.
Thought I’d share a selection of my favourite ‘yay I’m moving out!’ items. Don’t worry, normal fashion-related posting will resume tomorrow with an outfit post, but for now you’ll have to put up with my childlike excitement!
Are you moving out of your family home this summer? Off to university? What are your bedroom essentials to make it feel homely?
