Dress – New Look
Blazer – H&M
Belt – ASOS
Brooch – A very special gift!
Hello again everyone! I’m back from my week away in Edinburgh, Scotland, and so glad to be back. I had a pretty good trip but have definitely missed having fast and reliable internet. It took me ages just to do that one blog post whilst I was away, since the USB dongle had such a rubbish signal.
Anyways, today’s outfit consists of a blazer and dress that actually don’t get worn that often. The dress is from maybe 2 years ago from New Look and I’ve always loved its puffball shape (although it can be quite annoying as it likes to ride up!) and the bright navy & white stripes. The blazer I usually wear with a plain white vest and skinny jeans because it’s quite a statement in itself.
Oh and the story behind the brooch (which is a little silver and gold horse with an emerald green eye) is that I got it when I was a little girl, probably about 9 years old, from a man who was like a grandpa to me. As he had a race horse, he always used to take me to the races and one day he bought me this little brooch, I think it was the day his horse won its race (remind me to dig out the photo of me, hilarious 90s dress). I only recently found it again as it was in my mum’s jewellery box! And as he passed away some years ago, it serves as a nice reminder of how kind and generous he was towards me.
There’s my heartwarming story for the year haha. In other exciting news, the Boots No7/Ruby&Millie vouchers have started up again and I’ve bought myself their hot cloth cleanser for a purse-friendly £3.75, in the hope that it will help my skin behave. I’ve also been reunited with some MaxFactor liquid eyeliner (the pen style one, glide & define) which will make me very happy make-up wise, I feel naked without it!
Hope you’re all having a beautiful weekend, the sun is out here and it will hopefully stick around for another month at least *fingers crossed*
