Last week I had the pleasure of spending my lunch break at the Lowry Hotel with the lovely Clarins PR girls, to introduce me to their Autumn makeup and skincare launches. Clarins has never been a brand I’ve turned to for cosmetics, I have to admit, but I was pleasantly surprised at the products they had lined up to launch this year.
If you’ve fulfilled your cosmetics buying quota for the month, I’d probably stop reading here as there’s some seriously gorgeous stuff!
Clarins True Radiance Foundation
House of Fraser, £27.50
My one problem with full coverage foundation is that it generally has a cakey texture and feels heavy on my skin, so I was slightly skeptical of this when hearing it was full coverage. After a cheeky blend on my hand, my concerns were soon gone, as this foundation has a fine, fluid texture, making it super easy to blend.
This foundation is pretty much perfect for a city girl like myself, as it has a unique plant extract that fights the loss of radiance by helping to stop pollution particles from settling on your skin. That, coupled with radiance boosting pigments, gives you a flawless and luminous base. I think I may have found rival for my beloved Laura Mercier foundation!
Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette (Nudes)
Selfridges, £32
The new Autumn Clarins collection is heavily focused on this ‘Ladylike’ character, bringing out a woman’s femininity with strong but soft shades. This little palette is one of my favourites from the collection, consisting of 4 neutral shimmering shades in the most gorgeous shiny gold compact.
At £32, it’s not the cheapest palette, but it boasts four shades that are staples in an everyday eyeshadow look. They can also be used wet or dry, depending on the intensity you’re looking for. Snap this one up quickly though, as they’re limited edition!
Clarins Feed 10 Cosmetics Gift Set
Free with 2 Clarins products (one to be skincare)
A free gift with purchase is pretty standard amongst premium cosmetics brands, but Clarins have dubbed this their ‘Gift with Purpose’. Partnering with American charity Feed Projects, founded by Lauren Bush, you can pick up the Feed 10 cosmetics bag and products with the purchase of 2 Clarins products, one to be skincare.
I love the idea behind this, as for every Feed 10 gift they sell, ten nutritious school meals go to needy children in developing countries through the UN World Food Programme. I think it’s great to see a measurable donation with your purchase, so you can enjoy your beauty treats whilst knowing that ten children will be given the nutrition they so desperately need.
This set features 10 travel-sized iconic Clarins products in a handy pouch, perfect for taking on your holidays!
Clarins Ombre Matte Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow
House of Fraser, £19
I’m not going to go into huge detail about these just yet, as I have a post planned where you can see how lovely they are and also how to create the perfect everyday eyeshadow look with them, so keep an eye out (terrible pun) for that.
A silky soft creamy texture that turns into powder to give your eyeshadow the longevity you need, they’re the perfect addition to your makeup collection. They come in 6 neutral shades and will be available this August.
Top tip: Use these over their Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base, which works as a primer to brighten your eyelids and help your eyeshadow look flawless from day-to-night.
Selfridges, £19
This Autumn sees Clarins add five new autumnal shades to their Rouge Eclat lipsticks. I’m particularly looking forward to #19 Chestnut Brown, so I can channel my inner Kylie Jenner with some seriously-lined, brown-toned lips. They’re available this month, but don’t appear to be online just yet, so keep an eye out for them.
