A Saturday Afternoon in Lyme Park
If I could recommend anywhere to go for a walk in Manchester/Cheshire, it would always be Lyme Park in Disley, Stockport. It’s one of those places with such varied terrains and an abundance of wildlife, a place you can get a bit lost in for a few hours.
This weekend Mat & I headed there with a couple of passengers in tow: his niece, Georgie, and Dobs (aka Dolly) the chihuahua. We trekked up through the woods, where we spotted lots of really cool twiggy dens, and eventually got to a point where we could see the whole of Stockport (or the whole of England, if you’re Georgie!). The views were beautiful, even if we had to stop ourselves from blowing away in the gale force winds to see them for a few minutes.
We even spotted a few deer on the way down, which really made me wish I’d brought my zoom lens! Then it was off to the playground for a little while before the rain came pouring down. The best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
