Introducing…
Liz Earle Energise
Liz Earle is a brand that most of us will associate with their cult skincare favourite, the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, but if you go beyond that product, there’s so many new favourites to discover.
They’re also a brand that are certified as cruelty-free (always look for the leaping bunny symbol on packaging), which gives a peace of mind when buying their products. Their ingredients lists are always full of naturally active ingredients too, such as plant oils and extracts, so you don’t have to worry about any chemical nasties clogging up your skin.
Anyway, I decided to try out their ‘Energise’ range for a bit of a change this time, as I’m always looking for lovely products for my morning showers that won’t react badly with my skin. It’s a range that contains botanicals and essential oils to refresh, exfoliate and smooth your skin.
Liz Earle Energising Body Wash*
Liz Earle, £13
I’ve been using this every single day in the shower and have grown rather fond of it. It has a gel consistency that lathers up as well as any other body wash, with a fresh fragrance coming through from the damask rose flower water and sweet orange oil.
At first I was quite apprehensive of the scent, but I’d grown so used to the synthetic sickly sweet shower gels I usually use, that I didn’t appreciate this at first. It smells so natural and fresh and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.
Perfect for guys to use too as it’s not a particularly girly scent. Well, y’know, if you don’t mind them using your fancy body wash… I know my boyfriend is very generous with his use of shower gel (keep away from this one, Mat!)
Liz Earle Energising Body Scrub*
Liz Earle, £14
The scrub is by far my favourite product of the two though. It has a similar ingredients list to the body wash, with the addition of ground olive stones to act as a natural exfoliant.
Natural exfoliants are much less abrasive on your skin, so it’s a great way to regularly exfoliate without doing any damage. It leaves my skin smooth and even after a shower, ready to cover in moisturiser. It’ll be perfect once we start getting some nicer weather and the legs can come out!
