Urban Decay Spring ’15 Collection
Before I received this parcel of Urban Decay goodness, my UD collection went no further than a bashed-up but well-loved Naked palette and various Primer Potions. Though I own a few gorgeous sleek palettes, my Urban Decay one remains in my daily makeup routine. If I’m wearing eyeshadow, there’s always going to be some UD in there somewhere.
So it’s no surprise that when these new goodies landed on my doorstep, I had really high expectations of them. I was excited to see whether they could also form part of that elusive collection of my “Holy Grail” products.
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick*
£15.50 each, John Lewis
First up are the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks in the shades (L to R) Rapture, Ladyflower & Slowburn. As you can see, I got stuck into using them before photographing (oops, blogger sin), but that’s only testament to how good they are.
Promising a creamy, smooth application with a high-shine sheer finish, these are perfect for those who don’t want to feel like their lips are covered in an uncomfortable mask of lipstick. Although they promise a sheer finish, the colour pay-off actually really impressed me.
Rapture is the perfect daytime lipstick for a ‘your lips, but better’ colour, Ladyflower steps it up a notch for a brighter pink lip and Slowburn gives you a gorgeous bright red lip that won’t leave your lips feeling dried out.
Rapture has made its way into my HG makeup bag, for sure.
Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow
£14 each, Feel Unique
Being a huge fan of the Naked palette eyeshadows, I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed by the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows in (L to R) Scorpio and Cosmic. Like their regular eyeshadows, the Moondust eyeshadows offer a great colour pay-off, but with extra glitter and dimension.
Scorpio swatches as a glittery black, with a tiny hint of deep green, making it ideal for a smokey ‘let’s go out-out’ eye look. Cosmic, on the other hand, is a dreamy off-white with lots of shimmer. This is perfect for swiping just under your eyebrow arch and on the inner corners of your eyes to make eyes pop.
Tip: use them wet for extra intensity.
