Be Mine, Chanel
I treat myself all the time. My boyfriend could tell you this, my postman could tell you this and my bank could definitely tell you this. I love treating myself to high-end makeup & cosmetics especially, as they feel so much more luxurious, but nothing feels more special than receiving them as a present from a loved one.
Chanel is my favourite ‘gift’ brand. You really can’t beat the excitement of seeing a black & white Chanel gift bag with your name on it. So here are a couple of the latest items to add to my collection of much-loved gifts.
Note: Maybe leave this page open the week before your birthday or other big occasion, with a half-written comment saying ‘OMG I love all of these beautiful creations!!!!!’. Or just buy them for yourself… every girl deserves a bit of Chanel.
Coco Mademoiselle Fresh Moisture Mist
£29, Selfridges
I actually got my hands on this before the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance and completely fell in love with it. The Coco Mademoiselle Fresh Moisture Mist has a similar scent to the original perfume, but works as a moisturising mist to spray all over your body.
It complements the fragrance perfectly, whilst leaving your skin super soft, so it’s great for spritzing on before a date or night out with the girls. You will smell amazing, I promise!
Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum
£68, Selfridges (50ml)
I thought my “Holy Grail” fragrance would always be Miss Dior, which is a sweet but powerful scent, until I treated myself to Coco Mademoiselle. It was one of those weird fateful moments, where the 50ml EDP appeared to be out of stock in my local Boots but when I asked the shop assistant, she told me a girl was exchanging for the larger version that. very. second. That’s fate, right?
Anyway, this smells very similar to Miss Dior but not as overpowering. It’s about as girly a fragrance as you could find, without smelling sickly sweet. Perfect for spring/summer, or just every single day of your life.
Rouge Allure Lip Gloss in Distinction
£26, Selfridges
When my brother asked me what lip colour I would like, I answered something like “whatever looks the most goth”. So he presented me with the Rouge Allure Lip Gloss in Distinction, which is pretty spot on. On the wand it looks very purple, but it’s actually more a wine colour. I covered my lips with the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Obsession first too, so it has a slightly darker look than it would on its own.
It’s a gloss, therefore not really kiss/drink/eat-proof, but it does have decent lasting power, more so with liner underneath. The formula is also highly pigmented, giving a perfect gothy pout in one coat. I love the packaging too, which I couldn’t even figure out at first. You push in the top and the wand pops out, cool huh?
