Sweet Scents for Spring & Summer
With the weather warming up any time soon (Manchester rain, please… stop), it’s always a good excuse to move away from the heavier perfumes of Autumn/Winter and treat yourself to a lighter fragrance for Spring/Summer.
I’ve picked four of my absolute favourites, mostly aimed at those who like fruity or sweet scents, which will be perfect for a little fragrance collection update. First up, is my all-time favourite perfume, Miss Dior Eau de Parfum by Dior. It’s a sweet and floral scent, with notes of mandarin, rose, jasmine, patchouli and musk. The lasting power of this perfume is great too, so make sure to pick up the EdP version.
Very similar to the Miss Dior, is Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum, which also has a floral jasmine-rose scent. I’d say it’s a great swap if you want a slight change from Miss Dior, or vice versa. They’re both perfect everyday scents but I often get a little bored of using the same one each day, so it’s nice to be able to switch them up.
On the slightly more affordable end, there’s two perfumes that have been sneaking into my daily routine too. Thierry Mugler’s Angel Eau Sucree* is one of those, with its beautiful sugar-textured star-shaped bottle . I previously reviewed their Angel fragrance, but have found myself loving this version much more. It’s sweeter and lighter, with notes of red fruits sorbet & caramel meringue and base notes of vanilla and patchouli.
My other go-to fragrance is the DKNY Delicious Delights Cool Swirl* eau de toilette, which is my favourite of their Delicious Delights collection. It has notes of blackcurrant, violet, coconut water, magnolia and jasmine, with base notes of patchouli (I sense a theme here!) and musk. I’d say it’s not as sweet as the others in the collection, which means it makes a much more grown-up scent. Perfect for summer days in the park!
