Homeware Heaven
On a super sunny Sunday in June, I somehow managed to persuade Mat to take us to the Ideal Home Show, which was taking place at EventCity in Manchester. Full of everything you could possibly need for the perfect home, including homeware, furnishings, kitchen accessories and even hot tubs, it’s a really great place to gather inspiration for decorating your own home.
Now, we don’t have our own home to fill with furniture and a million cushions just yet, but it’s on the horizon so this was a good opportunity to add some things to our house wishlist. I’m thinking more soft furnishings though, rather than swimming pool-sized hot tubs! Let’s be realistic…
Stylish Roomsets
As soon as we arrived, we stumbled upon these gorgeous roomsets by some of the high street’s best homeware departments. The homely blue & cream set was designed by Next Home, with lots of cosy blankets & cushions, oak wood and a couple of French Fancies to complete the look.
The rather funky eclectic set was designed by the folks at BHS, which actually really surprised me! The bright floral patterns, eye-catching lights and box crate shelves were particular highlights for me.
Comfy Lounging
We then headed to the living room section, where we sneaked in a little sit-down at the Ekornes Stressless stand on their super comfy reclining chairs. The brand are Norwegian and produce some of the world’s most high quality, beautifully crafted chairs and sofas. Although not cheap, I can definitely vouch for their comfort!
Nearby was the Arighi Bianchi stand, with its impressive reclaimed wood wall, plush sofa and initial lights. The sofa wasn’t to my taste, but I definitely need to get some of those initial lights for our future home.
Oh and that jukebox… how cool?!
Kitchen Treats
I think the kitchen and food sections were Mat’s favourite parts of the event, with lots of food to sample and all the sexy Smeg ovens and Belfast sinks he could’ve hoped for.
Smeg’s section was amazing, with their signature retro-style coloured fridges, huge stainless steel ovens and even washing machines disguised with a classic Smeg door. We also really loved the crazy little car, which contained a wine/drinks cooler under the bonnet. Definitely a perfect addition to a games room… if only we had a games room!
Have you ever paid a visit to the Ideal Home Show?
Our visit to the Ideal Home Show was complimentary of Ekornes, but as always, all thoughts & opinions are my very own.
