Falling Back In Love with Fashion Blogging
I haven’t done an outfit post in so long! Back when I began blogging in 2010, it was a big part of my blog and I loved to share my outfits on here. As fashion blogging became more & more polished and started mimicking magazine shoots, that’s where my interest started to fizzle out.
It’s taken me a while to embrace my own style. I like doing my nails and splurging on makeup but when it comes to clothing, I like to be cosy. Sure, I love to dress up for special occasions, but day-to-day, casual is king.
For the most part I live in skinny jeans, big jumpers and a pair of trainers. I stupidly thought there wasn’t really a place for that kind of style in fashion blogging, that you had to dress up for outfit posts.
I was definitely wrong on that one. I’ve been following some new, totally inspiring fashion bloggers/Instagrammers over the past few months and they’ve made me realise how refreshing it is to be yourself.
Let’s mark this post as the beginning of that journey for me. If you like to be cosy & casual like me, stay tuned for more posts like this one!
Nike Beautiful x Powerful Jacquard Collection
Over the past two years, I’ve really fallen in love with trainers. I’d gotten way to used to putting up with uncomfortable shoes, that when I started wearing my Nike Free’s and Adidas Gazelle’s, my feet were amazed at the difference.
When I wear a pair of trainers that I love, I walk with a bounce in my step and a confidence I never really had before. Sometimes though, my plain black & white pairs just won’t cut it.
I saw the new Nike Beautiful x Powerful Jacquard Collection maybe a month or two ago and vowed at least one pair would be mine when they released this month. They’re bright, confident and they make you look twice, maybe three times, just to take in the beauty of their detail.
The collection is inspired by female athletes and their boundary-breaking accomplishments, including Joan Benoit Samuelson’s game-changing running records. It’s basically girl power in a trainer collection, which I’m 100% all about.

Air Huarache Trainers* – Nike @ JD Women, Jeans – Primark (similar here), Jumper – Topshop, Scarf – H&M, Bag – Vintage
I was honestly so torn between the Air Max Thea’s and these Air Huarache’s*, but the classic 90s style won out in the end. The Huarache was born in 1991 like me, so it’s a no-brainer.
You can pick them up at JD Women for £110 and they come in UK size 4-7. Grab them while you can though, they’re far too beautiful to be around for too long!
